How to Download TikTok Videos on Windows

No installer is needed. Windows browsers save the MP4 straight to your Downloads folder, and VLC plays it without codecs.

Copy the TikTok link

  1. 1Open the video in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com.
  2. 2Choose Share, then Copy link.
  3. 3In a browser, copy the address bar URL.

Paste it into DownloadTray

Open downloadtray.com in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Paste the link, press Download, then pick the video format.

Edge sometimes asks whether to keep the download. Choose Keep; the file is a normal MP4.

Open the file

The file is in Downloads by default. VLC, Windows Media Player and the built-in Photos app all play it.

If Windows blocks playback, right-click the file, choose Properties and check that it is not marked as blocked from another computer.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. The whole flow runs in the browser and saves a standard MP4.

Why does Edge warn about the download?

Edge flags some browser downloads. The file is a normal MP4; choose Keep if you trust the source link.

Can I download photo posts?

Yes. Photo posts list each image separately, and the audio track when available.
