Paste a link. Keep the file.

DownloadTray downloads the video the platform actually serves — TikTok, Instagram, X and YouTube. No account, no install. Quality and watermark status depend on the post.

How to Download a TikTok Video on iPhone

There is no download button in the TikTok app, so the reliable route is to copy the post link and let a browser save the file. This works the same in Safari and Chrome on iOS, with no app install.

Copy the link from TikTok

  1. 1Open the video in the TikTok app.
  2. 2Tap Share, then Copy link.
  3. 3If you are on the desktop site, copy the address bar URL instead.

Paste it into DownloadTray

Open downloadtray.com in Safari or Chrome. Paste the link into the box and press Download. DownloadTray detects that it is a TikTok link and lists the formats the post actually exposes.

A video post usually offers one MP4. A photo post lists each image separately, plus the audio track when TikTok provides one.

Save the file to Photos

Tap Save to device. On iPhone the file goes to the share sheet or the Downloads folder in Files, depending on iOS version and browser.

If the share sheet appears, choose Save Video to write it to Photos. If it went to Files, open Files → Downloads, tap the file, then Share → Save Video.

  1. 1Tap Save to device.
  2. 2Choose Save Video in the share sheet, or open the file from Files.
  3. 3Confirm it appears in Photos → Recents.

If the Save Video option is missing

Older iOS versions and some in-app browsers do not offer Save Video. Open the link in Safari rather than the TikTok in-app browser, then try again.

You can also download to Files first and move the file into Photos from there. The file is a standard MP4, so it plays in Photos and most editors.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app?

No. The whole flow runs in Safari or Chrome. That is also why it works on iPhone, where App Store downloader apps are restricted.

Does it remove the TikTok watermark?

Only when TikTok itself serves a clean stream. DownloadTray saves the file the platform provides and never re-encodes or paints over it.

Where did the file go?

Check Photos first, then Files → Downloads. iOS puts browser downloads in Files unless you choose Save Video in the share sheet.
