How to Download TikTok Videos on a Mac
macOS has no TikTok downloader built in, but the browser flow takes a few seconds. The file lands in Downloads and plays in QuickTime without conversion.
Copy the link
- 1Open the video on tiktok.com or in the app.
- 2Click Share, then Copy link.
- 3On the web, copy the address bar URL.
Paste and download
Open downloadtray.com in Safari or Chrome. Paste the link, press Download and choose the MP4.
Safari may ask for permission to download from the site the first time. Allow it; the file goes to Downloads.
Play or edit the file
Double-click the MP4 in Downloads to open it in QuickTime. It also imports directly into Final Cut, Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.
If you plan to repost it, keep in mind that TikTok and Instagram re-compress uploads, so the saved master will look better than the repost.
